Hello BW. I'm going to tackle the replacement of the rear subframe bushings on my 1989 560SEC. After google searching this process, there is really no definitive "go-to" article on the easiest DIY method. I'd definitely like to avoid purchasing special tools so what is the best DIY method out there?

I don’t have a step by step. But having a nice press or knowing someone will help a LOT with removal and installation of bushings. Going back I’d even pay someone to do it because of the hassle I went through. Or put that money towards a press. Good luck

I've got a nice brand new set of bushing puller / pusher tools on sale on Fleaby at the moment. Bought them but didn't need them, kept them too long to send back to Amazon. Cost me $100 plus shipping.

Go on you tube and do a search. if it’s the bushings between the subframe and the body there is a video by a guy with what looks like a good shortcut.

That is an EXCELLENT video tutorial he did!

I wish I'd seen that a lotta years ago before I had mine done on the SEC.
