How many miles does your car have on it? My 2000 manual does not do it. I have 26,000 miles on mine. It does shift much better now than it did when it was new.

The gearbox has had time to break in and that is why it shifts better. I can tell more when I power shift and it shifts much faster now than it did when new. When new the first to second shift would not power shift very well. Now with it broke in it just shifts much smoother now.

I have not had any other problems with it so I think something is not right with your car. I did drive a 1968 Triumph GT6 that did what you car is doing with over 100,000 miles on it and it would drive me nuts. You had to keep your hand on the gear shift to keep it quiet.

A broken/worn engine or transmission mount will cause such symptoms..... check out left side engine mount ....think that was the side... that was on a prior auto of mine.
