When I have the accelerator pressed/driving/revving the temperature reads at the normal range but when the car is parked/idle/stopped at a light/.... the temperature reading starts to go up. Any suggestions?

Are you running the air conditioner when this happens. The cooling fan might not be
kicking in. if not this, it could be a bad engine thermostat, or a partly stopped up
radiator. I have had all of these on different cars. I like to run mine a little cooler than
what is recommended, so I added a bottle of WATER WETTER to the radiator, and it runs
about five degrees cooler by breaking up the air bubbles in the water, so the heat can
be dissipated more easily. You might give this a try first, before changing anything else.

Common cause of this behavior is a failing viscous fan clutch.

Search the forum as this was discussed recently: how to test, how to replace & how to fix DIY (in the wiki). Could be another million things though

Regards
