Hi everyone... So when I came out of getting some snacks in the gas station and my 04' G500 was in front with the engine on still, and i heard an almost cell phone buzzing noise coming from the engine... It would buzz for 3 seconds, then stop, then buzz again... I leaned in and heard it coming more from the drivers side wheel well area... I am very puzzled! What could it be?

Btw, my left front fog light is out and it is alerting me a few times a day that it is a malfunction... Could it be the sensor communicating with the car that the light is out? Turning on or off the (one) fog light that works doesn't change it...

The noise stops when the car is turned one click off, when the radio and a/c etc. can still work...

Hi Togornottog,

I think that it might be a faulty or jammed relay. A sensor will not emit a buzzing sound, as it is only small electronic part, but the sensor's realy might definateley emit a sound like that.

I think the best way to find out exactly is it is the realy for that sensor, replase the fog light, and if the sound stops, you know that it is that realy. Then just replace that.

Hey, I have had a simmulat strange humming in my C230 coupe for a few weeks. Had pumps changed and still there. This weekend I have come to the conclusion that it is a lossend bolt on my fuel filter. Dont know how that happend. I have replaced the filter and all clamps related to that. Cost about 200 Dollars in your money, but sound is totally gone. So go check that one out...

You have a vacuum pump on the left wheel well, it's for the center diff lock, but it should only run when the diff switch for the center is turned on. Check it out by turning it on and off.

Fog light bulb might be defective, and the computer (ECU) will turn off the power to the faulty bulb. Install new bulb and turn ignition off (completely) and then back on......
