Hi,

Never tried it, but is it okay to stop your roof from either closing or opening mid process?

I ask because there is some work I want to do on the lining of our 2003 clk 320 at the rear window. Have never tried it and wanted to check first.

Look forward to some advice from all you knowing drivers.

Regards
Mick

No idea if MB recommends to or not, but I do it all the time. To clean the inside of the rear window glass, or lube weather strips, or whatever.

Yes, it's fine and in fact is necessary for certain maintenance work like lubricating the rubber seals. Just make sure that when you stop it that the rear cover is in the full open position. When the open/close process is halted, the pump will automatically release hydraulic pressure after sitting for a minute. The rear cover hinges have special "locks" to support it in the fully opened position so that it doesn't fall on you while working on the top, but they only engage when it's in the fully open position.
