Hello everyone, new guy here.

I have a completely stock (no mods) 2004 C32 AMG with 86,XXX miles.
I would like to replace the stoplight/brakelight switch, but i cant find it. It is not where the brake pedal is, there isnt anything brakeswitch related there.

Thank you.

The Mercedes system shows the brake light switch for your VIN mounts where you show in the picture. Congrats on the wedding, I was US Army and lived in Charleston 19 years after my ETS

I just recently moved to Shelby, NC.

I will take my C32 apart this weekend and view its configuration.

Have you done any tweaking on your car?

I recommend installing a catch can immediately if not already done.

Thank you for your service to our country.

The drive train is stock except for K&N air filters.

Engine will not crank, shifter stuck in park, everything else works issue solved.

I wanted to thank everyone here on this forum, you are the best.

I read a article somewhere that suggested replacing the brake/stoplight switch, My 2004 C32 AMG does not have a brake/stoplight switch at the brake pedal.
Looking at the wiring schematics, i found a "switch" at the brake booster (there are 2 sensors below the master cylinder, on the left is the diaphragm position sensor and on the right there is another sensor which looks like what may replaced the stoplight/brake switch).
I ordered a complete (with both sensors) used brake booster/master cylinder from ebay ($75.00) and that fixed my "no crank, shifter stuck in park, everything else works" issue.:smile:wink

Thanks.

Rising from the dead...

I have a C55 with the same issue and am having trouble figuring out what exact part I need to get. There is a lot of conflicting information. Does anyone else have experience trying to replace the brake light switch in a C55?

Back from the grave...

I'm having the same issue Chileno had but am unable to figure out the exact location and part number I need to get my hands on.

There is no switch at the brake pedal inside the car and I can't see the two switches on the brake booster either. Can someone point me in the right direction.
