Likely a nice one to buy for real cheap.
I know that stretch VERY well, I drive it a lot when I am in LA because adjacent Ventura Blvd is where I hang out, from Woodland Hills to Studio City, the 101 Ventura freeway is pretty bad, at 8am it is typically REAL slow, though not so bad sarting up in the Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks area at the Ventura County line, west bound where this caper took place. Though for sure at a crawl by the time he got to Hollywood at the Gower exit.
The car's a 2nd gen 420 or 560 LWB SEL (1996-1991) sedan, and likely it has black or dark blue leather seats and a (not uncommon for these) Air Con that's inop, so it would be starting to get hot as hell inside, which is how come the sunroof and window is open, lol.
I bet it would be available to pick up real cheap in a couple of months at the LAPD impound sale, after the lien notices went out and the car was still unredeemed and unclaimed, when it will get the liens cleared off and put up for bid at the LAPD impound yard, where it wil be auctioned off to pay the towing and storage fees. (It will be messy inside if nobody shut the window and sunroof for 2 months after today though.) There is a decent chance the driver won't bother to pay and pick it up. (Got a *lot* of other stuff on his plate just now!)
Ditto the owner of it - if it had been stolen.
But it looks pretty clean and undamaged in the picture, and and since it went 100 mph in the chase, and has no body damage, it would be a good car to pick up. But the new buyer would need to get a key cut. Difficult here because Mercedes Benz require proof of ownership - typically the pink slip - to issue a new key.
