stock shocks with h&r springs?

hey guys. wanted to know whether i can just simply add h&r springs to my car and use my existing stock w210 2000 e320 shocks in order to lower the ride(want a e55 look)? does it work? any difference in regards to keeping them or getting i.e. bilstein sport or hd? what will change etc?thanks

answer appears to be 'yes' you can keep stock damper
and that they coexist with H&R lowering springs. ride
and handling are subjective and dependant upon what your
needs are...or want.
