need to replace my stolen radio. Vin lookup says it was an "audio 30"
When i search on ebay, several radios look like it, including a becker BE-3302, a European Becker "monza" and an alpine unit.
What radios will fit without any wiring changes? If several will fit, what is the best one that will fit, and the most easily adapted to take a ipod?
thanks!

Just get a BE 3302 and iPod hookup for the lighter outlet in the ashtray. I have one somewhere. It has an assigned station (it overrides the static radio-station and is the iPod) the station is 91.9. It'll be in the manual somewhere. That's what I did. :)

am at work so i dont have eyeball knowledge of port/color in the back, but
Elvis has a 2002 model so it is important that you buy (if it is important to you)
the Audio 30 which features fiber port for CD changer connectivity. if you
have no use for the changer, then ignore this alert

also, be aware that another plug n play head unit which is D2b fiber compliant
(what your car uses) is the Audio 10, which ditches the audio CD player and
weather band, but it does feature a single slot CD player within the head
unit.

all this just to say that if you have in your hand an Audio 30 but it was made
for use with the 96-98 E-models, you *may* be able to plug that into your
99-02 model but it will not connect to your fiber compliant changer

I don't plan to use the CD changer. I was planning to wire in an input for an ipod. I saw a thread on how to solder one in. Can this be done with a unit with a cd player and not a tape? I single CD player would be nice, but not necessary.
Thanks!

Is the becker 3309 the same as a becker 6003? They seem to be the same, taking the same plugs contectors in the back.
One needs the fiber optic to use the amp, not just the cd changer, correct? My cd changer was stolen, but i don't plan to replace it.

Your car is post face lift W210.
Ask someone with the same model year to tell you the exact radio model to buy. My '01 is a double DIN Nav unit so I can't tell you. My '99 radio is 3302, but it may not work for post face lift ('00-'02) with steering wheel controls. Do the steering wheel controls get wired in the radio? I have no idea. Some models look exact the same on the front but when turned on, the "aud" button shows only balance, treble, and bass, no fader.
Best way to hook up iPod or any gadget is via Aux. Search for it.

That link was for a unit with navigation. My car didn't have nav, nor do I want it. Thanks, for your help!

no, CD changer uses digital data interchange via fiber pathway. amp utilizes
conventional/analog connectivity
