I have a 1991 300E 3.0. It Takes 3-5 times cranking motor to start after sitting a few hours. Better after warm. I have replaced: Fuel Filter, Plugs and wires, cap and rotor, Air filter, new battery, smog pump, Ser. belt, OVP. Fuel pumps seem to OK. Obviously a fuel pressure or Distribusion problem? MAS? I'm a DIY and can't keep spending $ on my guesses. Looking for better guess? Have a vibration at Idle but i believe it's my motor mounts

Checked for voltage at the cold start injector? Tested fuel pressure? Have you sprayed starting fluid to see if it fires off instantly? Swapped or changed coils? What part of Central Florida are you located in?
