Hi guys!

First: I'm totally new to this!

Second: My english is not that good

Okey!

I got a clk 320 -98 with a becker be 2210 headunit, got bose speakers but no amp in the trunk (if that's possible) I have checked everywhere but I can't find it! so I assume that I don't have one.
Now I want to change the headunit to someting else so I can add a subwoofer an play mp3-discs.

What I need to know is what wires I need to connect to the new headunit to get everything to work. which colors are what behind the headunit?

All help is appreciated :)

The amplifier is located on the rear deck where the rear speakers are. It is located in between the rear speakers and must be accessed from the trunk. It is actually in between (sandwiched) the 2 layers in the metal rear deck. It took me a while to find it as well.

Greg is right. The amp should be on the driver side, behind the trunk lining cover. It's towards the trunk lid opening, by the wheel well.

Now, if you don't want to change the headunit, I would suggest getting a Line Out Converter so that you can add RCA jacks for the sub amp.

You said you wanted to change the headunit, great idea. I would just go all out and change all your speakers too. I know people say that the Bose setup is great and it's decent, but once you upgrade to new speakers all around...trust me, you'll be glad you did. Our cars are built very well acoustically.

Basically you just have to install the aftermarket HU and then install the amp and sub if that's all you want to do. There is a diagram either here or on MBworld.org that shows you what each wire is coming from the amp.

Do you know how to wire an amp up for your subwoofer? I can walk you through step-by-step on how to do this once you get the RCAs from the new HU in the trunk.

I would personally get a stereo shop to do the headunit install, and be sure to tell them to wire a relay inline with the ignintion so that the aftermarket HU turns off when you turn the car off.

Okey, I'm just back from the garage and I didn't find any amp but I removed the "plastic protection-thing" where the rear speakers are, the one whit the bose logo on. (don't know the name of it, but it's not important) And I discovered that on the speakers it says Nokia :O that's not right?
