I'm looking for some help on the connections to the ventilation system stepper motors. Here's the problem, when I got the car (2002 G 270 CDI) the connector for the stepper motors had been cut off! I've found a connector that will work but I've no idea how to match the pins on the A/C control module with the pins on the motors. The output on the module gives me:
Top pin 12v
Center pin 9 - 10v
Bottom pin 0v

Does anyone know the pin assignment on the motors?

Thanks!

Hi Alan, yes there are several motors all connected in series via a ribbon cable, the conductors are not color coded but i can trace them back to the first motor and figure out which pin is connected to which core. My problem is at the supply end, the original connector is missing and the wire was cut, so i can't work out the polarity.

This is a difficult problem to resolve. The motors back there are the same; I swapped 1 around to make sure of my issue. I am guessing someone cut the wire because the motor was clicking or the stepper motor arm was broken and clicking? What I cannot recall is where the other end of the wire went. You don't really need a wire diagram, you need a new harness. Its too cramped back there to put on a new connector even if you were able to acquire one. Try looking up a new harness to the motor(s) on the benz parts sites. You may be surprised at the price.
