I got a new front bumper on my 600 af some idiot backed into it at the local supermarket parking lot. The idiot ofcourse didn't leave a note with any information. Had to call the cops since that is needed for insurance. Anyway, got a new bumper for $500 (detuctable). The whole thing was $3000.

Now my horn is not working so I have to call the insurance on that one and get it fixed (the forementioned idiot hit the right side of the front bumper).

The upside it that the new bumper looks really good. It would have been nice with a note so I wasn't out 500 bucks, through.

Oh, then on Friday the SRS light came on. Can't seem to reset it so I have to take it in to get it diagnosed. Wonder how much that will be....?

You mentioned that your horn is no longer working. I wonder if your car threw a DTC that's related to the sterring wheel air bag and horn assembly.

FWIW, After reading my Owners Manual it told me to open my drivers side door latch post to find a tag that said my SRS service life was good until 3/2015. My car was built in 3/2000.

I got the SRS and horn problem diagnosed and it turned out that the clock spring is broken (P/N 170 460 01 49). $115 at the dealer for the part. Easy enough to replace myself.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to copy several of these posts to a new thread so that you can help the next guy by documenting your DIY of the steering wheel SRS Horn Clock Spring p/n 1704600149 at parts.com = $97.22 shipped.

Please see the below attached PDF.
