Hello,

I have a torn steering shaft boot on my 2002 G500, so I got a new one from the wonderful Vlad and this has to be an easy job but before I try and tackle it I just wanted to make sure. The stealership said it would take 3 hours and that I just cant believe. If anyone has ever done this before or if you can shoot me any advise I would more than appreciate it. THANKS

The steering boot needs to be installed from the inside. It is captured between the steering column and the firewall.
So it is a fairly complex job, removing/disconnecting the airbag, removing the steering wheel, removing all the electronic switch interfaces and so on.
It is doable and I have done it to repair the steering shaft.

one big notice: disconnect the battery first, do not turn on the ignition switch before the airbag is completely reconnected.
