2007 ML500, just had the steering shaft bearing replaced today and the steering feels normal now.

The symptoms of this were a slight vibration feeling in the steering wheel on certain roads with many seams and uneven surfaces. It was only a slight vibration but I thought it was not normal. Most people would likely not even worry about this. However, to be on the safe side, I thought maybe it could be the start of a growing problem.

I had to take it in twice, second time with the technician driving it and with me in the passanger seat before we could get it to occur. Lucky I found the right road.

Just got it under warranty too :)

Interesting. Ours goes in tomorrow for what I believe is the same issue. Hopefully I don't get the "it's normal" bs. This will also be the second time in for this issue. Fingers crossed.

I figured my vehicle is not the only one that has this issue. The technician said that steering column bearing issues are not uncommon.

Post the findings of your vehicle.
