Hi

I have just purchased a 93 280E Estate and shamefully it came equipped with steel wheels!!

I bit the bullit and purchased a set of replcement MB wheels, havent got round to changing them over yet and have seen many ebay pirates offering w124 etc etc alloy wheel bolts.

Are the bolts used with the steel wheels able to be used with the new alloys or am I looking at more expence?

Many Thanks

Hi Phil.

They will not fit, if they are original MB alloy, or copies of them. Most often the bolts of alloy wheels will be longer. These are not good items to try to save a buck or two on. Remember there are only 20 between you and the ditch.

Make sure the cone angles match. And make sure to save five short ones in the vehicle if you have steel spare wheel. If you don't, you'll be sorry when you have a flat tyre.

Regards

Geir
