Yup...did it on my 420 SEL. If remember correctly, 1 or 2 bolts are readily accessible. The top, however, is a different matter. You have 2 choices: 1. to loosen the down pipe from the exhauast manifold (lots of penetrating oil on the screws) or 2. get 2 or 3 extension bars for your socket set (4-6 ft long) and find the nut and away you go.

I did it both ways, and it's almost the same. For the second method, you're almost standing by the rear axel with the ratchet.

I you follow these instructions, it should be straight forward, and probably take you 1 hour or less.

Watch out, that top bugger can be a FIGHTER.. First one I did I broke 3 universals. The last one i did I ended up pulling the whole engine and trans as the bolt galled and would not budge even w/ a 3 foot pry bar.
