Its been acting up for a while but its getting worse now, when ever the car is cold, when I assume its harder to start, you crank it over it makes a grinding sound albeit a higher frequency to what most people have heard form gearboxes, but a grinding noise never the less. And when this occurs you can feel the whole car bump. Is this from the gear moving out of position?? and tryingto re-engage, this doesnt happen on hot starts.
Its a PITA and embarrassing, my question is, is it on its way out and cant cope with a higher compression engine and secondly how much are repacements and are there any aftermarket replacements like the ones you can get for other v8's that are more powerful
