Hi guys, I need some help to fix this issue.
She start in 3rd ...5th tried, when rpm jump she started. I have onde video she starting

I changed Maf sensor, fuel filter with regulator.

I think could be the crankshaft sensor, but I don't know, I want some opinion.

Thanks

My fuel pressure is 4 bar on...off I get 2 , 2,5 bars
2-2.5 bars = 29-36psi
that's low - should be 50-55+ psi
Already changed your FF, right?
Could be your FP.

If it starts when your rpm needle jumps up from being still it will be your crankshaft sensor.

As Bobby said check fuel pressure. It could be the fuel filter which has the regulator built-in. When was the last time you change the fuel filter? Try this next time starting turn the key to position 2 let it sit that way for about 20 seconds, Then start it if it starts right up it’s the filtert

Matt his needle is only jumping up to about 1500 on start, which I take is normal because both of my Ml’s do as well and they have no other issues.

I couldn’t open the video so I thought by what he was saying it wasn’t moving and then as soon as it moved it started.

I figured it was something like that.

Until he posted the video I thought it was jumping to 6000 or something. Instead it is doing what it always does just something one does not notice till there is an issue.

I make a test with a manometer the fuel pressure stay on 4,2 bar, she decrese a little because the connector.

When start she jump to almost 1000, 1200 rpm, and the rpm max with engine on os 4000 rpm, I think the sensor os lossing read rotation

I tried remove the crankshaft and spray wd40, clean , and nothing changes.

Make the video of pressure

A jump after start to about 1500 RPM is normal then it should settle down to idle RPM.

Are you saying it jumps to 4000 RPM or 4000 is the max you can hit while driving?

Also please preform the test I posted, turn key to position 2 wait 20 seconds then see if you get a start on the first try.

What happens is if the filter is bad, the gas flows back to the tank as the car sits, turning it to position 2 allows the pump to build up enough pressure at the rail to get a start.

Try it and report back.

Fuel pressure in video drops way too fast. You have leaking injector/s or bad check valve in fuel pump.

The valve that maintains fuel pressure after ignition off is integrated with the fuel filter. Replace with new.

I think the genuine MB fuel filter is made by Mahle. Not sure what Hengst part you installed.

Jp the fuel regulator is built-in to the fuel filter. There is a problem here: if you did replace the fuel filter with a Hengst, Hengst does not list an ML 320 filter.

I checked their online catalog set the country zone to South America, this is what I found.

So what exactly did you replace, do you have a part number? Counterfeit part?

I bought one with code h226wk, I think that could be imported, its so high cost here.

Thinking about fuel, pressure, pump... the last owner adaptaded the fuel pump, and her mecanic make two hole on that squared on the top of fuel pump to pass the wired of pump (I don't understand why he make, but I don't have tool to open), and I think this could be losing pressure inside the tank, I put now some glue to close this hole, I will wait to try start again.

I'm angry, so many adaptations on this vehicle, but just 40k miles, I will make she back new again.

See what he done...
For sure I need change It.

Yes, something for sure seems wrong with the Pump, I have no idea what that coiled blue wire is about an ml pump has a oval wire plug and 2 fuel lines. Yours does not look like.

It looks like some one put a pump from another car in. I searched the number on it 99544 and a 99544dy come up as a pump for a cadalac Escalade.
