I have been having intermittent start error on start up. For about 3 weeks, Getting more frequent.
The codes I have are B1703-4. Does this mean my AAM is on the way out or the DAS. I'm not sure if in my year they are apart or combined. Build date Dec 99.
I have keyless go so I don't use my key fob and the chip is tapped to the ring. My red light does not flash when locked but blinks once Acc is turned on. It hasn't blinked on lock up since the keyless go was fitted. About 4 years ago.
Cheers Matt

Transponder coil or transmitter ring.....Your spare key will not match the DAS/AAM.
You must find someone to program the spare key chip to work with your DAS.
One needs SDS & Vediamo(software). I don't have the knowledge how, but people do them quite easily.........
PS. Are you sure your car battery is 100%?

I have the AAM / DAS that corresponds with the spare transponder ring and chip. So if I changed them all over it should match up. By doing that do I create trouble somewhere else.

You might have to do simple AAM coding with SDS, depending on the donor vehicle( like Xenon/Halogen etc....). There wont be any trouble anywere.........
But,........Clear the codes & see how it goes. Sometimes for some crazy reason a code pops up, Then disappears on its own.........

Cleared code successfully so I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days.
Thanks art.

Matt, if you get any more start errors, you should replace the transponder coil (DAS ring). You know the chip is good because the DAS codes are being read and stored.

I suppose low battery voltage could also cause low voltage at the transponder coil.

Your spare key/DAS module/AAM combo might not work without the donor ML's ECM.
