I've owned a 95 S420 for 6 weeks, but have yet to be able to use it. Crank shaft sensor is bad, mechanic says. Also, SRS light is on, and mechanic says the module might need to come out and be reprogrammed. Anyone have any experience R+R the SRS module? Is it buried in center console, and is it a tough place to get to?

why don't you read and clear the srs error,it's not complicated. If you sure about that crank shaft sensor is gone - change it, but if the car is unused long period of time you may fix the sensor only with cleaning it,probably.

srs error unfortunately won't clear due to a low voltage situation, as if a fuse in the module had blown, but I don't know if the SRS module even has a fuse.

Crank sensor is hopefully coming out today, then we can tell if it's dirty or not.
