Think I have figured it out

I removed my cluster to get it fixed not long ago
Before I removed my cluster there was no SRS light problem
I had to move the car a few meters with the cluster not installed
Bad move as I have come to the conclusion that there is a SRS test of the bulb in the cluster and if its bad it throws a fault

SRS malfunction indicator lamp (A1e15) or time limit for DTC readout /erasing 23 8.0 exceeded

So lesson learned at the cost of AU$120.00 to have Dealer clear the fault

Hope this helps anyone else avoid this

Seems a dumb idea that just because a bulb goes out its a stored fault :(

Snapon Tool reads all but SRS codes ?

Went to a indy who was able to read all the codes but his tool was not able to communicate with the SRS System

Now I am off to the dealer and hope they can read the SRS codes

Anyone had this problem ?

On carsoft here I can only read engine, transmission and vacuum pump. Not ADS/ABS/ASR/SRS etc etc.
Hi Joe

This tool had the option for selecting SRS but after half a dozen tries it always returned "not able to communicate" so I am hoping its just the tool and there is nothing wrong with the SRS System in my 500

As I've researched that the light in the dash staying on for about a minute or so is the SRS saying there was a fault but it is not a critical fault

Fingers crossed that the dealer can clear it as I need it clear for a RWC

Cheer's .............

Your right Joe

Dealer cleared a heap of codes - SRS included - lesson is do not drive when your cluster is not installed

Only other codes I have that cannot be cleared

008 transmission overload switch does not close
018 magnets for cps L5 not recognized

Interesting. How much did the dealer sting you for a code read and reset? I'll have to take the 600 in one day soon to read the ADS and ESP codes.
