I hope this board is as good as the similar BMW2002 mesage board that I've been posting on for the last year.
Anyway, I own a '99CLK 320 and am a bit disappointed in the amount of squeaks and rattles it makes when going in driveways and making turns over bumps. Has anone else noticed this or is it just my particular car?

Squeaks and rattles

I have squeaks on the seats and also when I'm on bad roads, I'm not sure if it's the moonroof but it's somewhere on top. Also recently, I was
moving the ac vents left to right and it suddenly
fell off. You would think that a car with a hefty
price tag would at least have good quality parts.
I'm bringing my car to the dealer some time next
week and I'll post what happens.
Frank
: I hope this board is as good as the similar BMW2002 mesage board that I've been posting on for the last year.
Anyway, I own a '99CLK 320 and am a bit disappointed in the amount of squeaks and rattles it makes when going in driveways and making turns over bumps. Re: Squeaks and rattles

Thanks, Frank. I'm about 2000 mi. away from my first service and I'll be interested in hearing what your dealer says. I've also got a problem with my sunroof. Seems that the logic somewhere in the button gets out of whack sometimes and I have to reset it by pushing up on the button an leaving it there for about 5 secs. It'll work fine for a few weeks and go nuts again.

No problem. On the sunroof, from time to time,
when I try to close the roof from its tilt position by pushing the button backward, it actually goes all the way when it should actually stop at the closing point.
I've got 100 miles left before service so next week should be the perfect time. I hope the a/c lever is under warranty as is all the other problems I encountered.
Frank
: Thanks, Frank. Although a fair number of owners report squeaks and rattles, my CLK does not. It pays to test drive a few before buying one.
