Today I noticed squeaking from the rear suspension.

If I press down on my rear driver corner, there is LOUD squeaking coming from that side.

Pressing on the other rear corner there is a squeaking sound, but not as loud.

Does anyone know what this could be? Is this common to happen on a 5 year old MB?

It could be the shocks, it could the muffler shifting against a rubber mount, hard to tell since I can't hear it from here even though on the phone to Toronto just about every day.

I know this is scary, but drive the car up so 2 wheels are on the sidewalk and the other two are on the street (obviously with the squeaky side on the sidewalk). Then have someone push and make the noise while you poke your head underneath and listen to where it's coming from. Use something like a paper towel cardboard center to help localize the sound if it's not obvious. I would not try this with a jack on your driveway or your head may end up looking like Stewie from Family Guy
