Has anyone experienced this? I get a really terrible high-pitched squeak, specifically from the flexible part that moves with the column. It goes away if I position the column to its maximum up or down setting, but that's not a very comfortable driving position.

Short of replacing the collar entirely, I was thinking about trying to get in there with some lubricant. Any suggestions on what kind of lubricant to use... I was thinking a lithium spray maybe? Also, how to get around to the back of the collar to apply. Any ideas?

No, its totally silent when turning the wheel. It's just when I hit bumps or push on the collar. It's nothing with the steering mechanism at all, it's literally just the trim around the column.

I'm going to have to make a video or something so everyone can see what I'm talking about, because it really is driving me crazy.
