Interested to know if the arms and brackets for all square cabs are interchangeable? I have seen several posts on the forum which shows different width arms (measured as the distance from the cab) but I have also noticed that different series have different shape arms that can accommodate different mirrors as well.

I recently purchased Hella replacement mirrors for my truck (as shown in the photo) that only rotate but do not gimbal like the stock mirrors. Since the mirror brackets on the U1300L are angled towards the cab it sets the mirror at a slight angle. From the photos it looks like the UHN has a different bracket with a vertical mirror mount that can also accommodate both the outside mirror as well as the wide angle mirror. Ideally it would be nice if I could get some replacement arms from the larger series that would bolt directly on the existing mounting locations. Is this possible? Modification of the existing arms is also an option but thought I would see if the stock options would be an option before resorting to mods.

Well, unfortunately I cannot post any Photos, but I think that the mounting points on the Square cab doors have not changed except for the early days of the first issue Square Cabs, where the mirrors hung down from the top, looking like upside-down 406 mirrors.

My green DOKA had asymetrical mirror brackets - the Passsenger side brackets were a 90* rectangle, more or less, and the Driver's side had an...I don't know, 15*-20* bend in the bracket - resulting in less of a vertical dimension to bolt mirrors to....why, I never figured out...

Your 2nd photo clearly shows the angled bracket on the driver's Side.

That said, the 90* brackets are available for either side, and as far as I know, they will bolt up to any SBU door with upper and lower nutsert mounts.

Oh, and I have seen the wide-angle mirrors mounted both vertically and (more often) horizontally on the horizontal
legs of the mirror brackets, whether the 90* brackets or otherwise.

MEREX is a good solution to this type of thing, and I am far from unbiased on that subject, to be fair.

The mirror mounts on my mog are 2 differnt iterations by the looks of it. The new brackets (arms) fit either style. Just so you know there are variations - as usual :devil

I have had three different style mirror arms, with different widths. The orignal U1250 brackets are a lot narrower than the U1300 and U1700 brackets I have, but they all fitted on the doors without any problems. I ended up cutting a U1300 am down to match my original U1250 bracket, still have a spare U1700 arm in the shed.
