Let's calm down about the spring pads this is getting way out of line.

To reply to LINH: The dealer is not 'Boo Shitting me or anyone else for that matter, they have nothing to gain by it. The mechanic who installed the pads is from AMG! I trust his judgement! I saw the pads in person, they are number 1's OK!

I even had a mechanic tell me on the side that some guys have been known to mill the #1's down so they are thinner still! How about that?!

The Factory owned dealership that I deal with in Vancouver, Canada they even had a CLK 430 on Trade with H&R's installed the car is too low for me, I am happy with my modification.

Another thing about these pads is: when ordering them the parts guys needed to know the codes and options of my car because apparently Benz has a variety of these depending on certain options ordered when the car is built.

for some people slammin the car is the way to go and I respect that. Some guys like it with 1's up front and 2's in the back etc So be it!

LET'S NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN THE SMALL PETTY DIFFERENCES!

Orion...am caught in the middle of this! There's two people with two different story. That's.......
why i ask Hai to 'EXPLAIN'. As for milled down pad #1. So sorry, but been there and done that!!!! That's what i ask Hai to do that if he can't get pad #1 front. He was piss off to the point that he want to 'CUT ' the spring. Now that would be 'NO!!! NO!!!' I agree that H&R spring is all ready lower and stiff so most people don't want to change the spring. But Hai had EIBACH spring. They know to provide a softer ride then H&R and it known not to lower the car like H&R spring and that is why Hai wanted to go with pad #1 in the front. Hai told me that the dealer told him they don't make pad #1 for CLK. I question him, then why do they call the lowest pad #2 instead of #1!!! As for order the pad at my Dealership (Mercedes of San Diego. They don't ask you shit, just show you 4 pictures of pads and ask you which one you want!!!!Very simple. They don't care what you do with it. By the way, can you tell me what pad #1 look like? Just checking.
63-93-87-49.lsan.dial.netzero.com

Re: How did you get your dealer to write it up as a warranty issue?

Why would it be a warranty issue? There is no issue. If I lowered the car using aftermarket springs than their would be an issue and Mercedes would not install them, that is where an issue would come into play.

Re: Who's gettin' caught up? Pics pleaase!! :) How's the fender gap between fr and rr?

There is more fender gap in the front because the front is a larger opening. The balance of the car looks right and it is not sloped forward. Since it had #4's all around it now has #1's. It did not come with 4's in the back and 3's in the front.

No no..you misunderstood. You mentioned that the dealer replaced the pads for you for free before

delivery...and you mentioned warranty with it...maybe I misunderstood you.

Bottom line is, how did you get the dealer to replace the pads for free? Was it part of your deal with the car?

proxy4.fm.intel.com

Re: No no..you misunderstood. You mentioned that the dealer replaced the pads for you for free....

Sorry, they charged me to do the job, I WISH they would have done it for FREE!

I meant that they will not do anything to a car that: a) would void the warranty b) is not an original part bought from them.

I'll give you an example:

AMG parts are not carried by Mercedes-Benz in Vancouver, Canada, because when AMG was a seperate entity years ago another Vancouver company bought the rights to sell and install AMG parts, in fact their name is AMG performance parts.

So, even though I can get AMG factory original parts, Mercedes-Benz dealerships here in Vancouver will absolutely NOT install the parts!

Re: Orion...am caught in the middle of this! There's two people with two different story. That....

Sorry, not to take it out on you, I just get frustrated because we all can get caught up in little nuances and at the end of the day we do own a vehicle that so many people can only dream of owning.

I can tell you that in the U.S.A., there are a number of non-factory owned Benz dealerships, and yes, I have been told first hand that some of them are not up to snuff with others and as usual some people who do thier jobs couldn't care less about your needs!

I am fortunate that the guys in parts at my dealership bend over backwards to help.

Regards,
Orion

Arnee!!!!! that Q's was a "TEST" for Orion....because he said he saw the pad with his own eyes.....
so i just want to see if he know what pad #1 look like. I just talk to Hai 5 mins ago. He then again said that he call another Mercedes dealer and ask to order Clk pad #1 front but again this dealer also said there's no such thing is pad #1 front for Clk.
ROOM

OK, I was under the impression that the dealer did it for free...my dealer warrantied

my SLK when they lowered it with AMG springs, and they'd do any kind of other mods to it wether it's AMG or not...just not engine mods.
proxy4.fm.intel.com

His dealer said that because they always have the front 1 step above the rear...

So instead of asking for the #1 front, just ask for the #1. The reason they say there is no #1, is because if they went by that method, there would be no spring pad in the rear.
ca-brea5b-23.stmnca.adelphia.net
