Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me lower my vehicle. I believe this is the right section to post because I'm either looking to purchase or borrow someones time, spring compressor, and expertise. It's always cool to meet another MB enthusiast. I have a large heated shop bay with plenty of tools but no Spring Compressor. I recently purchased a set of Monoblocks but my car looks like a 4x4. I'm hoping to hack off a coil or two. My vehicle is a '98 w210. I can pay with cash, beers, pizza, stickers or signs (I'm in the sign industry). My shop is located in Alexandria near the Masonic temple and King Street Metro. Of course I can come to your location also if you're in the Northern Virginia area. I'm in no rush and just hoping someone with experience can help me out. Anyways, give me a shout if you have any questions or can help :thumbsup:

dont cut the coils. you will hate the ride. save the cash and get the proper lowered progressive wound springs.. just my .02

I cut my coils and it's as smooth as original, and handles better as well.
Your camber will be effected.

On which car, and how much did you take off?

I plan to get springs from the junk yard and experiment on my 94 E320.

A slight bit over 3/4 of a twist off the tops on all 4.
I suggest you go to the W210 section and do a search. There are many postings on doing those things. Many that are better than I and some of my experiences as well. Mine was an already stock sport height model and I cut a 1 1/4" drop. The rockers now sit 6" from the ground. This is not the proper forum for this discussion.

I can help - located in Woodbridge but need a favor in return. Need to find a leak coming from somewhere under my car...if I can use your heated bay then you can use my spring compressor!
