down to the Big Easy - New Orleans. Ran down with the top down and steady cruise at about 85-90 mph. Got 27.5 mpg one leg of the journey and later did over 30. Later leg was further south and I suspect that they don't have the crappy winter blend of fuel and that is what was responsible for the increased miles per gal. Paid $ 2.21 per gal for 93 octane. Yeah, I know, us "Mericans" are spoiled by low fuel costs in relation to much of the world.

WOW. and I thought I was being ripped off in Panama City Beach , FL when I paid 2.18!! I guess I'm spoiled by sub $2.00 prices here in Charlotte. [:p]

you're about 2 cents cheaper than out here in the north bay area.. and 2 cents more expensive than in south bay.

I am paying $2.15 for high test in Atlanta.

We were down in Belize not to long ago. I did not apperciate the $5+ per gallon for regular unleaded. High gas prices suck.

You guys gotta get that Citi Bank Platinum Dividen credit card. You can save 5% on all gas purchases, 5% on all groceries from a grocery store, 5% on drugs and 1% on everything else. That takes some of the pinch off the gas prices.

Not cool anymore - Discover now offers card with 10% cashback on gas.

Small aside, but do you realize how little of your transportation cost goes to gas, especially in U.S. It might be slightly higher than the amount of your taxes that goes into welfare [8)] I did an analysis for a friend to determine if they should get a Ford Escape with or without the hybrid system. Would take them almost 300,000 miles of combined driving to notice any economic benefit [:(][:(] However 300,000 on a Ford may be a record [)]

You are correct. Hybrids do not make economic sense. But they do let some people feel better about driving a vehicle.

I'm hoping Hydrogen powered goes mainstream before I die! I'll still drive the 32, but day-to-day would use the Hydrogen.
