OK, I bought a gray market 73, no dash lights so I pulled the fuse panel and found this! So any bilingual owners help me out with this?

Fuse 13.

instrumentenbeleuchtung - instrument lighting.

Check that but also the dimmer pot is a very common problem. Rotate it back and forth about 100 times (not exaggerating!) to clean the corrosion off the coil.

OK just did the dimmer test, yes about a hundred times and got the dash lights to work! So tomorrow will pull the air cleaner to get to the heater valve and try reversing the vacuum lines. So I drove from Utah to Georgia in freezing cold without heat and dash lights, that were so easy to fix! LOL.

Good deal. Wish all the fixes were as easy.

I’ve got a 72 NA and currently delving into the DJet mysteries.

I wouldn't. The German fuse box designations do not correspond with the English fuse locations.
I'll translate them for you.

That would be the best way. There are differences between years and models. Even a '73 US 450SL may have a slight difference. The English translation is on the other side of the paper but it is impossible to remove without destroying.

Great, I will copy this and keep it in the fuse box, with a fine point pen I think I can use the original.

I posted a link to this discussion along with pic of fuse card in the Fuse Chart Compendium.

BTW: That thread, like a lot of others got screwed up by the BW platform change. But most of info is still there.

That's being kind. Contrary to their statement and promises that the broken links have been fixed they still haven't. And our Admins are still out in the cold AFAIK.
