Alonso wins rain soaked Korean GP and points lead

Alonso took the win early this morning in a delayed, rain soaked inaugural Korean Grand Prix. The Red Bulls did not finish. Webber crashed out early, taking out Rosberg. Vettel's engine blew.

Hammi was second, Massa third. And nice to see Schumi in fourth. Surprisingly Button was far back in the results. He usually displays mastery in the rain, but had one of the slowest cars running.

Here are the results:

Pos Driver Team Behind
1. Alonso Ferrari +0.000s
2. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes +14.999s
3. Massa Ferrari +30.868s

12. Button McLaren-Mercedes +1m29.939s
13. Kovalainen Lotus-Cosworth + 1 lap
14. Senna HRT-Cosworth +2 laps

My DVR didn't capture the whole race so I didn't see the last half. It looks like Vettel nearly took the car home but it failed him and Alonso was handed the win. 25 points any way you slice it. Sad to see Webber drop out so early and under such bullshit conditions.

Nice facility Messrs Ecelstone and Tilke:
mosquitos
monsoon
mud
high water table,
no passing
etc.

This is what you have brought F1 to Enjoy it because you won't be around forever and I will live to see both of you out of the Sport.

My DVR records all F1 events incl. repeats. The speedtv repeat had the full race, minus some safety car laps cut.

I felt sorry for Vettel. Weber's crash looked entirely self inflicted (championship pressure?), with unlucky Rosberg the victim. Schumacher made some nice passes in the wet.
A feisty Alonso got perhaps more than 100% out of what he was given, but I am not sure why nice guy Massa looked seemingly unhappy to get a podium?
Cheers

Agree that unfortunately Webber showed that he isn't fully up to WDC standards with that self inflicted mistake. Speaking of self inflicted, my DVR situation is totally my fault; not enough space. I need to get a spare drive to hold everything, then I can do as you do and just record every instance of an event just to be safe.

On to Brazil where Massa will settle for nothing less than a win - even at Alonso's expense :) Go Red Bull/Webber!
