After a little while in my W126 560SEL; I'm looking to purchase an S500/S63 from the UK and bring it home with me to Australia.

As such, I would need to change the speedometer and odometer from showing numbers in miles per hour to kilometers per hour.

Firstly; can this be done by a dealer in the UK?
Secondly; can this be done at home somehow without needing a dealer or service tech?

Thanks

You can turn it on in the menu on the dashboard, it comes up above the outside temperature to the left of the speedo, see first pic, ( it's showing KPH on the dial and MPH on the left, just an example, ours is the opposite)

I use mine all the time driving in Ireland because Northern Ireland is MPH and Southern Ireland is KPH

Thanks!

Unfortunately Australian Laws require that the main speedo dial be in KPH; if it complies with every other safety law but the speedo's main reading is in MPH when it lands, they can crush the car at my expense!

Anybody know how to reset the computer and change it to KPH?

And you are sure this works on all W221 models? The guidance would have to be accurate if someone is considering to bring a car from the UK to Australia.
Go to a dealer and test this feature. If you don't think it works just don't buy one. Realize that this is not a standard analog speedo. This is actualy an LCD screen that displays a digital image of a speedo and the parameters and image can be changed at anytime to display what the system tells it to display.

You seem to be very clever. Why did you then not find out what reads in my profile? You would find out that I don't need to visit the dealer. I've seen quite many times that it is an LCD screen.

Can you figure out the rest of the puzzle or shall I help?
