Hello, I have a 97 S420 with the original Becker cassette radio. I noticed when driving, the volume raises just enough to block out any wind noise outside then when coming to a stop- the volume lowers down, making me turn up the volume every stop. Is the volume speed controlled and can I disable it?

no way to do it im sure, it used to bug the crap out of me, i just replaced everything because half of it did not work anyway.

you could just cut the speed sensor wire behind the radio, green with a black stripe.

What is happening here could be your speaker wires are picking up the extra surging electricity that is created depending on your rpm by your alternator. It will cause an electronic noise to come from the speakers that match your throttle very closely. As for a fix I'm not sure. It gets tricky with the electrical on these cars. This was the case with my car, I just added insulation on the speaker wires and 12vdc radio wire and it stopped.
