I have a 78 240d and was planning to add some rear speakers but when I look at the rear deck there is no room due to the vacuum resevior and other stuff that I have no idea what it is.

Anybody have any suggestion on where to install speakers?

either wire transducers under the rear seat, raise the speakers out from the rear deck (if u want to go large u will have to do this, it looks uguly but it works), live with what size u have.
sorry

you could also take out the deck trace it cut a new one for your newer speakers, but youll prolly lose where your first aid kit would be, and whats a 123 without that first aid kit encasement :-D

Blaupunkt ODXA-402 - Overdrive series 120w 2-way 4"

Replace the existing ones with the same size only better ones. I put in a set of Blaupunkt ODXA-402 - Overdrive series 120w 2-way 4' coaxials, $119.00 AUD (per pair) front and back keeping the existing Becker Grand Prix radio. They fit in extacly where the original were.

Be careful if you go drilling holes for bigger speakers you don't drill through to the vacuum reservoir.
