Excuse my "rookieness" but I have just bought my first benz and am super excited (04 CLK55 AMG). It comes with these fancy 17inch chrome wheels that I am not keen on (is there a market to sell them).

My request for help is, what is the ideal performance set up for this car.

18 or 19 inch wheels?

What does offset mean?

What does staggered mean (the same as offset)?

Why are the front and back tires different sizes?

And finally assuming an larger rim what size/type tires should I get for maximum safety and performance.

My first post and already I am asking a lot of questions :)

Thanks,

Rick.

And unless you live in an area with no potholes or curbs, you might find that the stock size isn't such a bad idea...
