Do you see the volume bars changing in the radio display? It's possible you could have a botched connection for the volume controls in the steering wheel and that could do it.

Take care and enjoy the ride,

Mine does the same, and it's a '99 w/o the steering wheel controls. I have been too busy to address it and figure it is a malfunction of the stereo function to increase/decrease volume based on vehicle speed (volume should go up w/ increased speed and thus increased cabin noise)

Does anyone know about a fix for this? I've thought about getting a new head unit w/ HD radio, but it most likely wouldn't look good and I don't know how well it would interface with the rest of the system.

Any insight is appreciated!

I wish there were an easy way to turn off the auto-volume "Feature"....I think I remember seeing another post saying the dealer has to do it (For a fee?)
