Hi. I need some help with my 220. It's an 01 S430 and for the past few weeks it has given me trouble starting. Last time was yesterday and the starter kept turning but the car wouldn't start. After about 15 attempts over a period of 10 minutes it finally fired up. This exact same scenario has happened 5 times over the last few weeks. I can't seem to find a pattern for why this happens (weather, engine temp, .........)
I have read the various postings on "starter" problems and I think it might be the crank position sensor. But at the same time I am not experiencing what others with CPS problems have experienced. The car has not cut out while driving, it does eventually start up and the engine actually turns over trying to start.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like the CPS to me, your car will still trun over if the CPS is going bad. I had the same issue a few months ago.
I see you are in Canada, If you are close I will check the codes for free. I'm in London Ontario.

P0170 and P0173 are fuel trim malfunctions
P0120 throttle/pedal position sensor circuit malfunction
P0156 and P0136 I beleive is Oxygen heater sensor (not sure if its before or after cat)
P0335 is you CPS (preventing you from starting properly)
From your first post it already was pointing towards the CPS (which is a very easy fix), but seems like you have a few more sensors to replace
