But do you MBZ fools enjoy spending more money for a lesser car (ie. my honest opinion on my car

i find M5s exterior a bit too tacky with too much add-ons. what's the story with the gun metal finish wheels that you can't find a good shop to repair scatches?<p>while I like the interior, I wish they have kept the outside more classy and elegant and had corrected the quality problems (vanos noise, oil consumption, engine misfiring, rear rattling on fold-down seats and rear deck, interior aluminum pieces peeling off, etc.)

E55-No need to Prove Anything

The E55 was the right sedan for me here in the NY City area. I bought the car for me, not to impress others. It is the ultimate stealth sedan in my opinion. <p>If I want a sports car for use at the track and on weekends, I'll pick up a Porsche 996 turbo....with or without the factory "power kit", this should be able to hold its own against the mighty M5. SD (PS- for those who want to compare the E55 vs M5 at the track ....the M5 should have the advantage in straight line performance over 80mph but don't forget to compare stopping performance. The 4000 lb M5's brakes will have a hard time hauling down the car after the 3rd or 4th stop from 130+ mph.)

like most of us, I learned to drive on a manual transmission car. From the ease of use and pleasure a Honda 5-spd. to the 'have to pull over and ask someone to help you depress the clutch' stiffness of the '94 Corvette 6-spd. clutch ... and all those in between, I feel like i've driven 'em all. <p>Even I mis-shifted at times. You guys are pretty funny. Like Yamaha used to say..."Different strokes for different folks". I am 42 years old and I like the more subtle styling of my AMG E-55. It's bad enough as it is being middle age and single...the last thing I want is a car that screams "look at me" and says it loudly when I am crusing around...maybe that's why the BMW appeals to a younger crowd...that kind of thing is OK for them...for me it just says look at me..I am having a mid-life crisis...
