Hello guys,

I bought some authentic AMG tail lamp grill guards for my 02’. The part number is 463 860 07 42... it’s the type that screws in. I got under the truck and I couldn’t find anywhere to screw them into. Any help?

I believe you have to drill holes.

Thanks for the response, I may be wrong but the gap was huge between them and the bottom of the floor. I’ll get back there and take another look.

Can you post pictures?
I had to drill mine and think they were AMG as well. It’s been a while.

Sorry for the delay.

I looked under and there is about 3-4 inches of gap between the guards and the floor. I got some pictures.

Attaching the grills like in the picture above, the following pictures show the gap on the bottom.

As you can see, there is a gap. I may be missing some brakets that would bolt to the rear bumper bolts. I know that the knock offs on ebay come with brackets. Also, everywhere I checked, these genuine AMG grills list for the 2002. Any help is appreciated.

Hey sorry for delayed response. Been super hectic.
I’m going to show these to my mechanic who helped me install mine and has my truck currently to see if it’s the same and what he did.
Will report BACK soon
