Hi guys,
My father has a new-to-him 91 SL500, which was purchased over the winter with the hardtop on it.
We got the hard top off, and the soft top seems to come up OK until it gets to the half way point - where the roof is fully extended straight up - at which point it stops and won't continue any futher. It seems 'locked' in this position.
From the soft top diagnosis adobe file, it would seem that this is probably due to a safety sensor that prevents the roof from being put on with the windows up. So now I'm trying to locate the "window down limit switch" and a good way to test it without getting fleeced by the local dealer. The other possible problem is that the windows need "normalizing". I'm assuming that's some type of calibration procedure.
Any help locating the sensors would be appreciated!
