I can't seem to find help with this one. I have a puddle of hydraulic fluid behind the tire on the drivers side (usa) but after uncovering the pistons on that side (and the other) I can see no leakage but it squirts out the bottom frame of the car. Is their of diagram of where the lines run anywhere on this site. It looks like they run into or through the compartment where the top resides and over the wheels well. (top does not have fluid on it ...whew) Also, my top is barely popped up and I've watched the manual putting the top down video on youtube however my 97 320 had no access port and after removing panels there is no red nut to crank on either side nor can I get between the roll bar as they show as I have one side of the cowl locked and the other loose.

wouldn't you know it ... looks like the special wrench was kept by the previous owner ;(

I am assuming when you write 'behind the tire' you are referring to the rear, driver side (USA) wheel? There are rubber funnels that direct leaking fluid through the body and to the ground, so as not to harm other materials and make it painfully obvious that something is leaking.

Attached is the diagram from Top Hydraulics. Typically, the front cylinders (the easiest to fix) will leak on your lap, so no secret where that is coming from. You seem to have bigger problems. Many have been through this - so documentation is very good. Personally, I would (and did) remove all cylinders and have TH redo the seals, as opposed to potentially having to tear apart the interior to get to a different leak at some point in the future.

Not a fun or easy job - do it once, and for all.
