I accidentally left the radio on when I went through a car wash and the antenna broke off. Anybody know what I have to do to replace it? I saw a post on the wiring diagram...I thought of just going to a junkyard and getting one. Thoughts?

Get a new antenna mast from the dealer. A friend at the controls of the car may be of enormous help.

Loosen and then remove the nut at the antenna base. Its on the exterior of the vehicle just above the black rubber grommet.

Turn the power on so the radio can be turned on. Turn on the radio. The antenna will automatically push its way up and out of the fender. Remove the old antenna completely.

Now, put in the new antenna's splined tail and turn off the radio. This will suck the tail all the way in along with the mast. When the antenna is all the way inside the drive mechanism, reattach the nut and tighten.

Test the on and off a couple of times.

Hi, Mine got broken too. I ordered the whole unit from e-bay, not orginal but it fitted like a charm and cost only EUR 25.00. The mast was going to cst me more and was a bit noisy too. After 20 years what to expect!! It was about time to replace. Take my advise and change the whole unit. Its easy to fit, you need the remove the plastic side in the boot. It is secured by a nut and a cable tie. Fitting is vice versa of removing.
