Your question got me intrigued so I did a search.

didn't do FAR's link yet but wonder with 2 thirsty V8's is this the stuff of StarTrek? Get me a a world of decent 'passible in traffic' automotive function & I MIGHT consider relinquishing fossile fuels. let me PAY for MB's before they become the dinosauars they wil be :0 hey my 401k is already shot to hell.

The Hybrid systems in the Lexus' and the Highlander make some good power. Mostly because they use the V6 in conjunction with the electric motors whereas they use the I4s in the other models (and the upcoming HS250h I believe).

Tesla Motors

The fastest car in the world has a 0-60 of 3.4 Seconds (Kosenig) IIRC.

I appologize...Barabus makes a streetable car with a 0-60 of 1.67 Seconds.
