The most important item I need at the moment is A1686193938 (pictured), passenger side sill cover from a LWB 5 door. There is one on ebay, but it's cracked.

@MB•David, Mercman is still going, but doesn't have the item unfortunately, nor does Three Pointed Parts :-(

So, one of my issues is the pixelated speedometer ...

I had taken the cluster out, but put it back in as needed to move the car (and I didn't know if it would start without the cluster) and now it looks like ...

So that's a win

I have the 'F' on my display, and both 1856 & 1872 fault codes, so have been following your brilliant videos on how to (hopefully) fix the problem. A friend of mine works with electronics all day so is going to re-solder the joints for me, but I've just taken the board out and taken a picture of the board.

I'd say that looks pretty manky and is my problem? It's the same joint as in your video if I'm not mistaken?

So my friend wielded his soldering iron and now no more F on the dash. It's crazy to think that this car was destined for the scrap yard because of a dodgy solder joint!!

An update of sorts. I sourced a camshaft all sensor, and an air pump switchover valve but it seems that both of my current items are not in fact faulty as they've both tested OK (as far as following YouTube videos tells me that is!) so now I'm wary of what the fault codes are telling me.

The codes I have currently are: -
ECM - Engine Control Module(ME) 6 problems exist
1.P0340-001 No 'Cylinder 1' Recognition Of Component B6/1(Camshaft Hall Sensor).
2.P0443-002 Y58/1(Purge Control Valve): Possible Cause: Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground
3.P0725-002 Engine Speed signal(TNA): Possible Cause: Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground
4.P0410-002 Y32(Air Pump Switchover Valve), K17(Secondary Air Injection Relay): Possible Cause: Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground
5.P0135-002 O2 Sensor Heater Of Component G3/2(O2 Sensor Upstream Of KAT): Possible Cause: Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground
6.P0340-002 'Cylinder 1' Recognition Of Component B6/1(Camshaft Hall Sensor) Is Implausible.

I've got the WIS software, so I'm off to take a look around that to see if I can figure out the wiring for all these things and whether that are connected. Any pointers/hints/clues gratefully received

Lots of german manfacturers on eBay with 1 week delivery. Just got a Cat in 1 week from Germany over the Xmas period for £160. Dismantlers manchester wanted £345 for an old one nearly same age as my car! Wouldnt go near a scrap yard given the OEM equivalent suppliers. slightly longer was is better than a part that packs up in months!!!

Hmmm, if I've read this right, Z7/5 has wires between the ECM and 5 items. 4 of those items are reporting 'Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground', so maybe I have cable damage (talked about by Lofty on his site as well).

Time to get the multimeter out

I've poked and prodded things, and couldn't find any continuity errors ... so could it be the ECU that's kaput?

Off it went to ECU testing a few days ago, and I've just received this ... the tension is palpable (well, in my house at least )

Oooh. So I guess this confirms there is an issue with the ECU, which is good, but I wonder what it means that the unit has to go to for special technical analysis.
