Saturday May 6th

Trip to Newcomb's Ranch--Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2).
We could either meet at my house if you live closer to me than those coming from the North to South. We can go up there and have lunch. It is 45 minutes of mountainous roads and twisties. We'll see our share of motorcycles going up the hill. Boy won't they be happy to see (and smell) us!

Whatcha think?

I can't go on May 6th, I have work. And on Sunday, May 7th, I have another (last) field trip. The week after is great, but two weeks after, maybe not. My dad will be coming over already and I won't have time.

I like mornings around like 8am so we can beat traffic and get home at a reasonable hour. You guys chime in and tell me what date and time works for you all. Normally I don't work Fridays and Saturdays so that's best for me. Otherwise I have to re-arrange my schedule. I'm always up for a Newcomb's run!

I'm considering calling off from work on Saturday, but we have to make sure it's NOT Sunday because I have a field trip on Sunday so any postponement would be a waste of time if we don't push through on Saturday.

So if this mini meet pushes through on Saturday, tell me what time and where to meet up and I'll be there. If it's on Sunday, I can't go.

Mornings are great, I think that's the best time to meet (early morning) since we're close to each other anyway.

Sounds good! Anybody else joining us? :p We could fill up with petro diesel and some biodiesel to get the cars running smoother than ever. Hopefully we'll all be hungry after driving behind each other and smelling the French fry smell from our exhausts :D

I forgot that I generally volunteer on Saturday mornings. I can skip it this week of course unless things chance and I would have to meet you guys/girls (if any) later in the afternoon.

I can get B20 at $3.15 a gallon though. I have enough pails for 15 gallons and have plastic cubes but I have no idea how they will handle B20. I guess if they are emptied within 12 hours or so that's not a big deal.

I would reccomend we meet at Mayors' Discovery Park right at the top of the 2 freeway off foothill. You can see it from the offramp and it's on the way up to Angeles Crest.

Not too early! ;) Does anyone want some biodiesel. I may make a run to ITL so I can get about 15 gallons of B20....not the best but it's cleaner and better burning than cruddy #2!

Yesterday I just called off for Saturday (whole day) so I'm definitely going. Anybody else?

What do you guys have in mind? Meet up, have a chat, go for a drive, fill up biodiesel, take pics, etc? :p

Well I usually will go up to Newcomb's, eat breakfast or lunch (brunch?), take pictures, continue up Angeles Crest Highway (ACH) and explore some more photo opportunities if I feel like it. Generally I'll drive about 10-15 minutes beyond Newcomb's to Mt. Waterman (7,000 ft elevation) then turn around. It's on the backside of Mt. Bauldy. We might see some remaining snow on the top of the mountains but we wouldn't be anywhere close to it. From that point on I turn toward home.

Where exactly is the meeting place? I'm not familiar with Newcombs. Patrick's idea sounds good. We could meet at the same Arco station if you like, then from there convoy up to Newcombs or whereever.
