Snow tires

I'm looking for new snow tires this year for my 2003 SLK 320, and wondered what everybody recommends. The weather here ranges from slush and ice to moderate and occasionally deep snow. We live in very hilly terrain. The Michelin Pilot Alpin M+S were awesome, have gotten me through everything, but are quite noisy. Please let me know what's working well.

Here is a test from Norway
non-nudded tyres results should be quite ok for SLK:
•Michelin X-Ice XI13: 7,6 poeng
•Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2: 7,5 poeng
•Bridgestone Blizzak WS70: 7,2 poeng
•Pirelli Icecontrol: 7,2 poeng
•Continental ContiViking Contact 5: 7,0 poeng
•Vredestein Nord-Trac 2: 6,8 poeng
•Debica Frigo 2: 6,6 poeng
•Fulda Montero 3: 6,5 poeng

test can be found here:

It's in norwegian use imagination to understand what is what støy means noise.
