Driving 70, the car decided to slow down, almost a fuel starvation issue. it did not sputter and it did not stall, but there was a noticable lack of power.

ill add that the injectors seem to have been "nailing" thruout the driving range, not loudly, but i was hoping i could put it off until i get my loans! as it stands, if this fix costs money, itll have to sit for about 3 months.

i can bolt things on and take them apart fine, but i know nothing of the fuel systems beyond pumping fuel, the primer pump and tank screen.

please list for me the possible causes!

Have same problem. Under heavy throttle, (uphill for example) begins to lose power. Also havew '83 240D.
In park, accelerate throttle by hand andlook at the pre-filter for air bubbles. At least that was my prob. Still haven't found the leak. Did I mention it was also at 1AM on the highway in the Catskill Mountains. If I backed off the throttle to about 1/2 to 2/3's I seemed to blled the air out of the filter and it filled.
Good luck
