Thanks to the feedback from all the great members here and combined with what I have found on the Internet I think I have a pretty good checklist for delivery. I tried posting the stuff below on another thread but it kept rejecting so I am trying with a new one altogether.

[still didn't work...going to try to attaching the word file]

[word file didn't work...neither did PDF...aargh!]

Breaking it up into parts?

I'd like to thank everyone for their help. The suggestions are helpful and I think I will be well prepared when I pickup my car. To help all future SLK owners, I thought I'd post my checklist for them to use:

Things to look for during car pickup

- Cracks on all lenses of the car
- Front/back/side/mirror
- Look for condensation
- Wheel rash
- Scratches
- On body panels
- Underneath front and rear spoilers
- Edge of the hood near windshield wipers (occurs when wipers lifted to clean windshield – should be stopped up instead)
- Locking
- Glove box and centre console unlocks with doors
- Bass vibration in passenger side door
- Oil level is full
- Seat memory works
- Command screen has no defects
- No scuffs or other damage on leather seats
- Latest NAV DVD
- Driver Assist settings
- Curbside parking mirror assist turned on.
- Easy exit on
- Memory seats set
- Loose items present
- First aid kit
- Warning Triangle
- Micro fibre cloth
- Antennae Remover
- Both sets of keys
- Owners manual
- Spare Tire
- Jack and tire iron

Hey Omnipotent - Great list! I think you've captured just about everything. Better set aside a couple of extra hours just to check everything out! The only thing that I'd like to mention is certain things, like the antenna removal tool and the warning triangle, appear to be location specific. I think you'll probably receive those items because you're taking delivery in Canada, but I didn't get either of those two items here in the U.S. Also, you mentioned locks. If you have McGard locks or something similar for your wheels, make sure that they give you the key to unlock them. [:)]

I got the antenna removal tool in US. No triangle, but I did get that little black WISI thingee.

Great list. You won't regret
the time spent up front. Ounce
of prevention and all that.

I've also had trouble loading messages
today. . .have been unable to
post on the oil consumption
thread that I started. Kept
getting a "document contains
no data" error message (perhaps
an editorial comment) and at
other times, there was a web page
error message stating that the
web site was out of service.

Thanks for the great checklist.

I got my new SLK 200 today and used your checklist when I picked it up from the dealer.

Fortunately everything checked out, nothing wrong with it so far [:D]

Again, thanks a lot!
