No, I wouldn't. There's no way a car could get so plexed up.mikeallan - 3/7/2005 5:27 AM

Blaming the car instead of the knot head mechanics that can't figure out how to properly fix the car really doesn't help things in most cases. You bought a car that has some problems, OK that unfortunately happens some times. What have you done besides take it back to the dealer that has a record for not being able to repair the problem?I HAVE HAD ENOUGH - ITS GOTTA GO - NO MORE MERCS
FOR ME - LOOK OUT MERCEDES - I AM GONNA SLAG YOUR ASS
FOREVER
Fucking girlie car anyhow

I read this part, and it does say a lot.

Have you contacted Mercedes UK Headquarters to ask them for advise or help with a new dealer, or perhaps where one of their service reps. might be so that someone with a bit of knowledge of MB cars could at least look at the problem(s).
Bitching here isn't going to help, go to the source and tell them there is a problem, and ask for help. See what (if anything) they will do to help before you "SLAG THEIR ASS FOREVER".
I don't know about over in your "neck of the woods", but I do know of at least two cars that Mercedes replaced in kind when there was a problem of this magnitude. Try working through the "Chain of Command" there are times when it actually works. Also since I was not there when you talked to the dealer or anyone else for that matter, it sometimes helps to be nice to the folks your talking to. Like I said, I wasn't there, and you may very well have been exceedingly pleasant, but if you got nowhere, did you ask to see who was next up in line, or just tell them to "shag" themselves???
Personally I got General Motors to replace an engine in a car of theirs that was a POS. I think anyone who has had a problem with them (GM) knows that that, was quite an accomplishment. Believe me Benz is a lot easier to work with....
Mike time for a drink bud. It is not a matter of being too blind it is a matter of a post being tossed out with no additional information. If you are going to make a statement as such how about backing it up. In this case posting a link to your other posts would have sufficed.mikeallan - 3/7/2005 1:31 AM

Mike, you apparently have one of the worst kinds of problems to diagnose; an intermittent failure. This is more commonly a property of electronics than mechanical systems. Its only a machine with a defective part; once the RIGHT part is replaced, you should be OK and be able to enjoy the car you paid for. Since there are multiple parts that can cause the problem and there is no obvious way to identify the defective part while it is not in intermittent failure, you need to start replacing EVERY part in the causal chain, that can cause the problem until it stops. This means you will end up with some properly operating parts replaced until you find the RIGHT one. Save the removed parts for spares or resell the new replacement that didn't fix the problem if you want to minimize your final expense. I know this is a more drastic approach and more expensive, but sometimes it is all one can do with a car that has an intermittently failing part. Likely you will find the failing part to be from an outside supplier such as Bosch, Lucas, Nippon-Denso, or other standard component suppliers that could have found its way to ANY model of car, not only a Benz.mikeallan - 3/9/2005 7:45 AM
M.BENZ are sending a specialist technition to
dealer on thursday and said they will carry out
investigations free of charge - big deal, as various
MB "technitions" have been looking for the fault since
November 2004 costing ME several hundred pounds in
the process for sweet sod all?
I Have demanded they collect car as I am not prepared to drive an UNRELIABLE DEATHTRAP!.
It would be poetic justice if it fails to start
or cuts out ON THEM !
