And looks like every other Porsche (I mean, they're sweet cars and all that, but nothing TRULY differentiates one Porsche from another... from the distance, they're all just too much the same).

It will be an outstanding drivers car, and the retail in the UK will be about the same as the SLK55 AMG. What's more, it will almost certainly be as quick on a track as the Merc, because of the advantages of less weight, a stiffer chassis, and better balance and traction. However, I still don't want one. I want another proper V8 for a start [] and since I've had a 911 C4 for the last three years, I'm done with the Porsche thing (for the moment at least). Plus, the SLK is much better looking. I've never cared much for the Boxster anyway, although I have to admit it looks way better with a coupe roof than with the fabric tent and strange rear.

Looks like the SLK is going to get a run for it's money,... but in the end I'm sure people will still give the V8 SLK the respect it deserves.

I used to like boxters till I drove one, and the last great (everyday) porsche was the 996 turbo.

Yes it looks quiet nice and will most likely go like stink & they say the entry level will be around £50,000. But as previously said it is not a drop top and once you have specked it to the standard of the Merc you can add another £15,000 onto the base price. So I do not personnaly believe it will compete with the SLK,Especially if Mercedes do replace the SLK55 with the SLK63.[]
